Safety Training for Swim Coaches is a required certification for all USA swimming coaches.  The Safety Training for Swim Coaches course teaches about safety in and around pools.  The Fast Track option requires that participants study for and take the written test online prior to the Fast Track course.  The Fast Track course then covers water rescue skills for spinal and non-spinal injury victims.  All participants must be prepared to get in the pool with a swim suit, goggles, cap & towel. 

Minimum participant age is 15. The course fee is $75.

Click here for the Course Manual. The American Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety Manual is a required supplement for this course.

Participants must pass the 25 question multiple choice written test prior to the class start date.  The written test may be taken online at the USA Swimming website, and participants must set up and account to access the test.

• Setup a USA Swimming account. 
• Take the Written Test.

Upon successful completion of the written test, print the test summary showing your name and passing score or the confirming email from USA Swimming.  One of these printouts will serve as proof of successful completion of the written test, and is required to start the Fast Track course.  Participants who do not have proof of passing the written test will not be allowed to participate in the Fast Track course.
